Fried Corn


  • 4 – 6 Fresh corn cobs
  • 1 - ½ tbs. bacon grease
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1- 2 tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. season all
  • 1 tsp. pepper


Carve the kernels off the cob, and then cut the rest of the corn closer to the cob. Place the corn in a hot frying pan with vegetable oil. Continue to stir and add seasonings and bacon grease. After the corn starts to stick to the bottom of the pan, add water and continue to stir. Re-season the corn and continue to cook for about 5 to 10 minutes more (based on cooking temperature). Add the liquid flour to the corn and cook about 5 more minutes.
