Homemade Mashed Potatoes and String Beans

Country Fried Steak

  • 1 package of steak of choice (minute steak shown)
  • flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbs seasoning all
  • 1 tbs onion powder
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tbs pepper
  • 1 tbs basil 


Dip steak in egg, then batter steak in flour and fry until brown and crispy on both sides. Season your flower with preferred seasoning before adding steak.

Home Style Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 to 6 large peeled white potatoes
  • Cut potatoes and boil until soft
  • Add 1 to 1 1/2 can of carnation milk, butter, salt and pepper
  • Mash or/and whip potatoes until desired texture


Peel 4 large potatoes cut in smaller cubes and boil until soft. Drain potatoes and smash adding 1 tbs of salt and 1 tsp of pepper. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of butter depending on the thickness of the potatoes. Add 1/2 to 1 can of carnation milk depending on thickness of potatoes. The carnation milk contributes to the taste as well. For a smoother texture us a mixer after mashing. 

**Tip:If you are watching calories, you can still enjoy this delicious meal. Carnation Evaporated Milk now comes in 2% fat and no fat. Also using white potatoes will allow less work when peeling potatoes, but provide the same great taste.
